Utah Grizzlies acquire all-star defenseman

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie announced today that the team has acquired defensemen Scott Basiuk and Eric Nelson from the Columbia Inferno in exchange for forward Jeff Miles.

Last month, Basiuk competed in the ECHL All-Star Game representing Bakersfield. In 41 games with the Condors this season, the second-year pro tallied two goals and 20 assists. Basiuk was traded from Bakersfield to Columbia earlier today.

Eric Nelson spent 45 games with Columbia this season, totaling 10 points on four goals and six assists. He also played three games this year with the AHL's Lowell Lock Monsters.

The Grizzlies will go for their fifth win in a row tomorrow when they welcome the Stockton Thunder to the E-Center for a two-game-series. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
