Leading Scorer Returns to Nailers

WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers announce today that the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have reassigned ECHL All-Star forward Sean Collins to the Nailers. In other transactions the Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned forward Cam Paddock to the Baby Pens, and the Nailers have loaned assistant coach/player Terry Virtue on a short term basis to the Penguins.

Collins, 22, leads the Nailers and is tied for 13th in the ECHL with 50 points (16+34) in 39 games this season. He is also third among ECHL rookies in points, and tied for second among first-year players with 34 assists. He was named a starter in the ECHL All-Star Game.

The 5'9" 170 pound native of Reading, Massachusetts appeared in eight games for the Baby Penguins recording one assist.

Paddock, 22, has 29 points (9+20) and 71 penalty minutes in 46 games with the Nailers this season.

The Pittsburgh Penguins fifth round choice (137th overall) in the 2002 Entry Draft has appeared in 99 games with the Nailers during the past two seasons, recording 58 points (20+38) and 141 penalty minutes. He has also played 17 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton during the past three seasons, going scoreless with 15 penalty minutes.

Virtue, 35, has recorded 37 points, (6+31) and a plus-15 rating in 47 games with the Nailers this season, ranking fourth on the team in points, tied for second in assists and third in plus-minus. Team President Rob Brooks stated that Terry plans on returning to Wheeling early next week, in time for the next home game on Saturday February 25th.
