South Carolina Stingrays News Release

North Charleston, SC South Carolina Stingrays Head Coach Jason Fitzsimmons announced today that Maxime Daigneault has been called up to the Bears of the American Hockey League. The Stingrays will look to sign an emergency back up goaltender for their three games this weekend.

Daigneault was called up to the Washington Capitals earlier in the season, but did not see action. He is being called to the Bears due to an injury to former Stingrays, Kirk Daubenspeck.

Daigneault has a record of 13-10-7 this season with the Stingrays, along with a goals against average of 3.15 and a save percentage of .905%. Daigneault has won his last two starts with a goals against average of 2.06.

"Hopefully Maxime will be able to get some playing time with the Bears this time," commented Stingrays Head Coach Jason Fitzsimmons. "He has worked hard on his game and deserves and opportunity."

The Stingrays will finish a four game road trip with visits to Columbia, Greenville and Charlotte this weekend before returning home for the Stingrays Home Show, presented by Charleston Home and Design Magazine on February 24th, 25th and 26th against Columbia, Augusta and Charlotte. The home show will take place on the concourse during all three games. There are two spots remaining for exhibitors. For information, call 744-2248 and ask for Chad Pennington.
