Eight Olympians Former Utah Grizzlies

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies will be represented by eight former players when men's ice hockey begins tomorrow at the XX Olympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy.

NHL fixtures Scott Niedermayer (Grizzlies 98-99) and Todd Bertuzzi (Grizzlies 96-97) will be representing Canada. Bertuzzi played in Utah as an Islanders product. Niedermayer as an NHL holdout.

Grigorijs Pantelejevs (Grizzlies 95-96) and Viktors Ignatjevs (Grizzlies 94-96) will be representing Latvia. Ignatjevs sports two Turner Cup rings claimed during the Grizzlies two IHL championship seasons.

Antti Miettinen (Grizzlies 03-04) and Niko Kapanen (Grizzlies 01-02) will be representing Finland. Both players currently play for the NHL's Dallas Stars. Though Miettinen was recently replaced due to an injury.

Former Atlanta Thrashers goaltender Milan Hnilicka (Denver Grizzlies 94-95) will suit up for the Czech Republic. He also played for the Salt Lake Golden Eagles during the 93-94 campaign.

Montreal Canadiens defenseman Mark Streit (Grizzlies 99-00) will play for Switzerland.

The Grizzlies, winners of four in a row, return to the E-Center Wednesday and Friday hosting Stockton at 7:05 p.m.
