
Aces' Beckford-Tseu Named Rbk Hockey ECHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Chris Beckford-Tseu of the Alaska Aces is the Rbk
Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for February 6-12.
Beckford-Tseu is the first goaltender in 2005-06 to capture the honor three
times, winning for Oct. 24-30 and Nov. 14-20, and becomes the fourth
goaltender in league history to receive the weekly goaltender award three
times in one season.
Selected in the fifth round (159th overall) by St. Louis in the 2003 NHL
Entry Draft and under contract to the Blues, the 21-year-old went 3-0-0
with a goals-against average of 1.33 against Phoenix, stopping 68 of 72
shots for a save percentage of .944.
After making 20 saves in a 6-1 win on Feb. 10, Beckford-Tseu stopped 25
shots in a 4-1 win on Feb. 11 and had 23 saves in a 5-2 win on Feb. 12.
Beckford-Tseu, who has served as the backup goaltender for St. Louis on two
separate occasions this season, is 16-1-2 with two shutouts and he leads
the league with a goals-against average of 1.87 and is second with a save
percentage of .929. He is a perfect 12-0-0 at home with a shutout, a
goals-against average of 1.48 and a save percentage of .939. He was named
ECHL Saver of the Month for October after going 3-0-0 with a shutout, a
goals-against average of 1.33 and a save percentage of .949. He has also
played in the American Hockey League with Peoria where he is 1-1-0 with a
goals-against average of 4.76 and a save percentage of .833.
In his rookie season in 2004-05, he played 29 games with Peoria of the ECHL
where he was 11-12-3 with a goals-against average of 2.71 and a save
percentage of .908 and one game with Worcester of the AHL where he had
seven saves in 29 minutes.
The Toronto, Ontario native played three seasons in the Ontario Hockey
League with Guelph, Oshawa and Kingston and was 36-53-6 with seven shutouts
in 115 regular season games.

pct.), Alfie Michaud, Utah (2-0-0, 2.40 GAA, .912 save pct.), and Andy
Franck, Wheeling (2-1-0, 1.68 GAA, .946 save pct.).
