West Valley City, Utah - The Bakersfield Condors defeated the Utah Grizzlies 6-4 Saturday night at the E-Center.

Utah took a 1-0 lead on a Tom May power-play goal in the first period, but Bakersfield responded with three unanswered goals to build a 3-1 lead 5:03 into the second period. The Grizzlies then battled to make the score 3-2 (13:35 of the second), 4-3 (:21 of the third) and 5-4 (6:29 of the third) among a myriad of penalties that saw them unable to take advantage of any momentum as the Condors answered each Utah goal with a score of their own.

Utah had four minutes of power-play time starting at the 7:36 mark of the period but was unable to get the fifth goal and tie an all-time team record set twice before with their fifth power-play goal in a game. The Grizzlies had a chance to tie until four seconds left in the game when Condors goaltender Timo Pielmeier buried an empty-net goal to make it 6-4.

Ryan Kinasewich had two goals before being assessed a game misconduct 2:24 into the third period preventing him from a chance at his third hat trick of the year. Tim Maxwell had a career-high with three assists. AJ Perry extended his goal-scoring streak to four games making the contest 5-4 in the third.

The Grizzlies are next in action Saturday, December 26 when they will welcome Idaho to the E-Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
