December 19, 2009 - ECHL (ECHL)
Utah Grizzlies News Release
West Valley City, Utah - The Bakersfield Condors defeated the Utah Grizzlies 3-2 Friday night at the E-Center.
With 2:01 left to go in the first period, AJ Perry gave the Grizzlies the early 1-0 lead with a power-play goal setup with a crash on net led by captain Ryan Kinasewich and Tim Maxwell. Grizzlies goalie Parker Van Buskirk stopped all 12 Condor shots in the first period to hold the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
The Condors tied it up at one at the 10:03 mark in the second period. The Grizzlies took the lead back with Perry's second power-play goal with 5:38 left in the period before Bakersfield again evened things up 2:27 later.
Bakersfield took a 3-2 lead at the 10:22 mark in the third period on a goal by Gino Guyer that deflected off of Van Buskirk. With 5:20 left to go, the Grizzlies killed a five-on-three power-play and looked to turn the momentum, but could not find the net with an equalizer.
Van Buskirk stopped 27 of 30 shots in the losing cause.
The Grizzlies complete the pre-Christmas portion of their schedule Saturday when they host Bakersfield again at the E-Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
