Condors Fight off Grizzlies, 3-2

West Valley City, Utah - The Bakersfield Condors (17-7-2-0, 36 points) gutted out a 3-2 win over the Utah Grizzlies (14-9-2-0, 30 points) on Friday night in front of 3,908 fans at the E Center. C Gino Guyer potted the game-winner with 9:38 remaining in the third period.

LW AJ Perry opened the scoring for Utah on the power play with 2:01 remaining in the first period. LW Ryan Kinasewich ripped a shot from the half boards that was deflected by Perry. The Condors failed to score despite out-shooting Utah 12-9 in the opening frame.

The second period saw three goals and a flurry of other action. The Condors evened the score at one with a power play goal of their own. D Sasha Pokulok fired a slap shot from the point that eluded G Parker Van Buskirk at 9:57 of the second period. G Timo Pielemier made an impressive save with the left pad on a play by F Tom May to keep it a 1-1 game. The Grizzlies made it 2-1 when Perry scored his second power play goal of the game with 5:38 remaining in the second period. F Stephane Goulet tied the game at two with a second-effort wrap-a-round with 3:11 to play in the second period. LW Mathieu Aubin earned the lone assist on the play.

In the third period, Guyer scored to put the Condors up 3-2 when he banked the puck off a defenseman's skate from behind the goal just past the mid-way point of the third period. D Mark Mitera and LW Shawn Weller picked up the assists.
