Last Week
The Toronto Marlies had a busy weekend, playing three games in three days, their first of four in the month of December. First up was a visit to Hamilton for a match against the Bulldogs. Toronto would play a solid game in front of goaltender Antoine Bibeau who would make 25 saves to ensure a 3-1 victory for the Marlies. Brandon Kozun scored the game winner, while playing in his last game as part of a conditioning stint from the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Marlies would head back home Saturday for a rematch against the Bulldogs in Ricoh Coliseum. Toronto would be unable to shutout Hamilton who would escape with a 4-2 victory. This pushed the season series between the two teams to 2-3-1-0. Toronto capped the weekend on home ice, welcoming the Rochester Americans to Ricoh. Toronto would come out determined to protect home ice and would do so in front of a season high 6,914 fans. With goals from Brendan Mikkelson, Josh Leivo and Matt Frattin, the Marlies would shut out the Americans 3-0. Antoine Bibeau earned his second win of the weekend with the 25 save effort. With the win Toronto evened the season series with the Americans 2- 2-0-0. Connor Brown collected three points on the weekend adding to his team leading 17 points.
