HAMILTON, ONT. - Hamilton Bulldogs forward T.J. Hensick scored two goals less than four minutes apart in the second period to lift the 'Dogs (12-10-4-0) to a 3-2 win over the Rochester Americans (9-16-1-0) on Friday night at FirstOntario Centre.

After a scoreless first period, the two clubs erupted for five goals in the second period.

Bulldogs forward Daniel Carr got things started at 3:26 of the second period with his sixth goal of the season when he found a loose puck in front of the net, spun around and slapped it past Americans goaltender Nathan Lieuwen to give the 'Dogs a 1-0 lead. Forward Gabriel Dumont had the only assist on the play.

Amerks forward Johan Larsson tied the game 1-1 four minutes later with a one-timer past 'Dogs goaltender Mike Condon. Forwards Phil Varone and Mikhail Grigorenko collected assists.

Just over a minute later, Rochester forward Dan Catenacci gave his club a 2-1 lead, with assists from defencemen Chad Ruhwedel and Jake McCabe.

Hensick buried his sixth and seventh goals of the season with less than four minutes to go in the middle frame to give the Bulldogs a 3-2 lead heading into the third period. Forwards Drayson Bowman and Charles Hudon had assists on Hensick's first of the night at 16:11, then Hudon picked up his second assist of the evening with the sole helper on Hensick's second tally at 19:42.

The two teams skated to a scoreless third period, with the Amerks outshooting the 'Dogs 6-3 in the final frame in a push to tie.

Condon made 21 stops on 23 shots for the Bulldogs in the win, while Lieuwen made 21 saves on 24 shots for the Americans in the loss.

Hamilton went 0-for-1 on the power play, while Rochester was 0-for-3 with a man advantage.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Saturday, Dec. 13 when they'll visit the Americans at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, N.Y. at 7:35 p.m. The 'Dogs will return home on Wednesday, Dec. 17 when they'll host the St. John's IceCaps at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.
