Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team is auctioning off a limited number of game-worn Amerks Frozen Frontier jerseys to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the historic outdoor game between the Amerks and Lake Erie Monsters that took place Dec. 13, 2013 at Frontier Field. Proceeds from the jersey auction will go to The Buffalo Sabres Foundation and will be donated in the Greater Rochester Area.

The auction begins Saturday, Dec. 13 at 9:00 p.m. and will close at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21. Fans can access the auction at the auction section of NHL.com or through www.amerks.com.

Eight select Amerks game-worn Frozen Frontier jerseys will be up for auction. The first outdoor game in franchise history saw the Amerks rally for a 5-4 shootout victory over the Monsters in front of a standing room-only crowd at Frontier Field. The Frozen Frontier jerseys were inspired by the sweaters worn by the team during the 1957-58 and 1958-59 seasons, Rochester's second and third years in the American Hockey League.

The Buffalo Sabres Foundation is a New York State not for profit corporation that is committed to stimulating, supporting and encouraging organizations that serve Western New York which are committed to youth hockey initiatives; the health, wellness and education of underprivileged/disadvantaged youth and military personnel; and physically and mentally challenged athletes, by providing financial generosity and other platforms for their endeavors.
