Toledo Finishes Regular Season with a 4-0 Loss in Kalamazoo

(Toledo, OH) Toledo out shot Kalamazoo 33-27 but were held scoreless by the Wings 4-0 Saturday night in Kalamazoo. Toledo finishes with a record of 47-20-2-3 and finished the road schedule with a record of 20-12-2-2.

In the first period, Toledo out shot Kalamazoo 11-7 but the KWings picked up the lone goal when Tanner Sorenson lifted a wrist shot over the glove of Toledo goaltender Jeff Lerg with just 35 seconds left in the period.

Kalamazoo extended its lead with a goal from one time Walleye forward David Gilbert at 2:11 of the second period. A power play strike from the Wings at 16:54 of the second pushed the lead to 3-0. The Wings added another goal late in the third period for a 4-0 final.

Walleye Notes: Goaltender Jeff Lerg stopped 23 of 27 Kalamazoo shots and he finishes the regular season with a record of 28-11-1-2. Toledo finished the season series with Kalamazoo with a record of 4-4-1.
