Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Storm Chasers used a complete team effort to tie the series 2-2 with the Bats. Omaha (54-60) took game four 7-3 over Louisville (48-67) on Friday night from Louisville Slugger Field. The Chasers now hold a 9-7 season series lead.

Juniel Querecuto hit an RBI in the second inning, scoring Stuart Fairchild from first base to give the Bats a 1-0 lead.

Shortstop Maikel Garcia broke up Deck McGuire's perfect game bid with a double to left-center field in the fourth. Garcia stole his fourth base at the Triple-A level this season, putting the game tying run 90 feet from home. First baseman Logan Porter hit an RBI double to score Garcia before scoring himself on a double from catcher Freddy Fermin. In all, Omaha led 3-1 heading into the bottom of the fourth.

The Bats responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame. Querecuto hit a double to start the inning before coming in to score on a Ronnie Dawson double. Dawson would come in to score on a hit from Lorenzo Cedrola and knot the score at 3-3.

Left fielder Nick Loftin recorded a double to start the fifth. He moved to third on a groundout and scored on a fielder's choice that left center fielder Drew Waters on first base and retake the lead for the Storm Chasers.

Right-hander Andrés Sotillet (Win, 3-0) needed just one pitch to get the final out in the fifth before retiring the Bats in order in the sixth.

Loftin sent his first career Triple-A home run over the left field to score Fermin and third baseman Clay Dungan, extending Omaha's lead to 7-3 in the sixth.

The Storm Chasers pitching staff combined to retire 16 of the final 17 batters and even the series with the 7-3 win.

Omaha and Louisville are set to face off again on Saturday, with first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m. CDT. Coverage will start at 5:45 p.m. on the Sarpy County Tourism Pregame Show on 1180 The Zone. The Chasers look to send right-hander Jackson Kowar (3-8, 5.79) to the mound while the Bats are set to start Raynel Espinal.

After this series, the Chasers return home for a six-game set against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre starting on August 23. The week is full of exciting events like Bro Tank Giveaway on Saturday the 27th and Imaginary Friend Day on Sunday the 28th.
