STORM NOTES
- Judson Watch Heats Up! Rick Judson scored the game-tying goal Sunday afternoon with just 39 seconds remaining. That goal was the 186th of Rick's Storm career, and Judson is just 4 goals shy of tying Andrew Williamson for the most goals in Storm history. Judson is the career Storm leader in assists and points.
- Z-Man Back on Board! Maris Ziedins scored the first goal Sunday afternoon. It was the first goal and point for Maris since his goal at Johnstown on November 26th.
- Martin's Up! P.J. Martin scored a goal and added an assist Saturday night. It was his first multiple point game of the year. P.J. has 4 points in the last five games. P.J. also had the game-clinching goal in Sunday's shootout win.
- Shoot the Puck! The Storm has a record of 9-4-1 when having more shots than the opponent, and the Storm is averaging 33.52 shots per game.
- Toledo is 6-6-0 at home and 5-3-3 on the road this year.
- Toledo's power play unit ranks 16TH in the ECHL with 16 power play goals in 106 chances (15.1%).
- The penalty kill unit of Toledo went 16 for 17 over the weekend and has allowed just 15 goals in 110 chances against this season (86.4%). That is 9th in the ECHL.
STORM WATCH
- On Tuesday night, it is another edition of the Toledo Storm Coach's Show. Rob Snowball will join Head Coach Nick Vitucci this week and the voice of the Storm Matt Melzak live at the Bronze Boar from 6-7pm. The Boar is located at 20 South Huron Street. The Coach's Show can be heard live this week on 97.3 The Fox!
- Toledo will be back in action at home Wednesday night against the Wheeling Nailers. Toledo has a record of 1-1-1 against the Nailers this season, and has been outscored 5-3 in those contests. The Storm has not allowed a power play goal to Wheeling this year. Mark Kosick, who has 7 goals and 13 assists on the season, leads Wheeling.
- Following the Christmas break, Toledo will be in Wheeling Sunday afternoon.
STORM PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:
P.J. Martin (1 goal - 1 assist = 2 points)
P.J. collected his first multiple point game of the year Saturday night, and finished the week a plus 2. Toledo Storm assistant coach Tony MacAulay said, "Martin was our best player on the ice in the three games."
STORM GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:
Scott Fankhouser (1-0-0, 2GA & 33SV)
Scott rejoined the Storm Sunday afternoon from the Chicago Wolves of the AHL. Fankhouser was solid all game long and was stellar in the shootout.
