LAST WEEK: The Pride went 1-1-0 last week, defeating South Carolina at home and losing at Columbia. Pee Dee is 15-7-2 for 32 points, and is tied with Charlotte for first place in the East Division. The Pride have one game in hand on the Checkers.

Friday, December 17 v. South Carolina PRIDE 2 Stingrays 1 (OT)

After a scoreless first period, Mark Mullen put the Pride on the board first, tallying his 10th of the season 2:17 into the second period. It stayed that way until the 11:49 mark of the final period, when Matt Reid tallied a power-play goal to send the game to overtime. In the extra session, Kyle Kidney gathered in a loose puck in the slot, and ripped a shot past Kirk Daubenspeck with just 23.0 seconds remaining to give the Pride the win.

Saturday, December 18 @ Columbia Inferno 4 PRIDE 3

Pee Dee fell behind early as Columbia's Matt Ulwelling put a rebound home 3:08 into the contest. The Pride tied it midway through the first period on a Jeff Szwez goal, and then went ahead just 1:04 into the second period on Szwez's second goal of the game. But, Columbia would go ahead, scoring a pair of goals just 19 seconds apart midway through the period. The Pride tied it again on a Kevin Cooper power-play goal 2:58 into the final period. Just when the game seemed headed for overtime, Columbia's Walker McDonald scored with 6.8 seconds remaining in regulation to give the Inferno the win.

The Pride and Inferno meet for the second consecutive game, and for the fourth time this season. Pee Dee is 1-2-0 against Columbia this season, as the home team has won each of the first three meetings. The Pride are 10-15-3 all-time against Columbia, and just 3-9-2 at the Carolina Coliseum. Columbia is 12-7-3 for 27 points, and is tied with Greenville for third place in the East Division.

Sunday, December 26 v. Greenville 7:00 p.m. at the Lion's Den

Pee Dee takes on Greenville for the fourth time this season. The Pride are 2-0-1 against the Grrrowl this season, with the road team winning each of the first three meetings. All-time against the Grrrowl, the Pride are 31-15-5. Greenville is 12-11-3 for 27 points and is tied with Columbia for third place in the East Division.

PROMOTIONS: The game time for Sunday's game was changed from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. It's also another Sunday Kids' Day at the Lion's Den, with all 200 and 400 level seats just $2.50 for kids 12 and under. In addition, kids' meals (hot dog, chips, and soda) are available for an additional $2.50.

PRIDE NOTES

- Entering this season, only five times in ECHL history had a team had 0 penalty minutes in a game. The Pride have had 0 penalty minutes in two of their last four games (12/10 @ Augusta and 12/18 @ Columbia).

- Saturday's game was the first time in 10 games that the Pride did not have at least 33 shots on goal in a game.

- Pee Dee is 11-0-1 when scoring first this season.

- Saturday's loss at Columbia was just the Pride's second one-goal loss in regulation this season. Pee Dee is 8-2-2 in one-goal games this year.

The Pride's "Hockey Tonight" yard signs are back! If you need a new yard sign, you can pick one up at the Pride office between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, or at the Customer Service Tables during home games. Remember to place your yard signs on game days. The Pride's next home game is Sunday, December 26 against the Greenville Grrrowl.
