Las Vegas to Host Midnight Game Tonight

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers posted a 1-2-0 record this past week with a 6-0 win on Thursday over the first place Bakersfield Condors. Las Vegas fell earlier in the week 1-0 to Greenville at the Orleans Arena on Tuesday night. Friday night the Wranglers were defeated 2-1 at home to Bakersfield.

This week, Las Vegas host Fresno tonight in the second annual midnight game. After five days off for Christmas, Las Vegas will host the San Diego Gulls at 5:05 pm.

Greenville 1 at Las Vegas 0

The Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated 1-0 by the Greenville Grrrowl at the Orleans Arena in front of 3,912 fans. The Wranglers out shot the Grrrowl 45-28 in the loss, but Greenville goalie Mike Morisson stopped all 45 shots for the win. Greenville's Martin St. Pierre scored the game-winning goal with 4:43 left in the third period.

Thursday, December 16th

Bakersfield 0 at Las Vegas 6

The Las Vegas Wranglers beat the Bakersfield Condors 6-0 Thursday night in front of 3,744 fans at the Orleans Arena. Wranglers' rookie Chris Stanley scored two goals and added two assists. Las Vegas goalie Sebastien Centomo turned away all 49 shots that he faced. Rookie Dana Lattery, wingers Dan Tudin and Jason Spence and Captain Jason McBain all tallied a goal and an assist in the win. The two teams combined for 108 penalty minutes.

Bakersfield 2 at Las Vegas 1

The Las Vegas Wranglers fell to the Bakersfield Condors 2-1 in front of 5,860 fans Friday night at the Orleans Arena. Bakersfield's Paul Rosebush tallied a short-handed goal with 12 seconds remaining in the game to give the Condors the victory. Wranglers' defenseman Deryk Engelland scored his first goal of the season for the Wranglers in the loss. Las Vegas goalie Marc Magliarditi made 34 saves. Bakersfield goalie Yutaka Fukufuji made 20 saves for his eighth win of the season.

Fresno Falcons – (10-11-2) –

Las Vegas leads the Season Series 1-0-0

Fresno comes in with a 5-4-1 record in their last ten games. The Falcons compiled a dismal 23-43-6 record last season, including a 3-8-0 record against Las Vegas. Nine of Fresno's 10 wins have come at Save-Mart Center. The Falcons have been outscored 24-12 on the road this season. Center Dan Tessier leads Fresno in scoring with eight goals and 15 assists for 23 points in 23 games. Tessier was a teammate of Wranglers winger Dan Tudin last season in Columbus, GA. Fresno forward Shaun Sutter is second on the team in scoring with eight goals and 13 assists for 21 points in 22 games played.

San Diego Gulls – (13-7-2)

First Meeting of the Season: SD leads all-time series 6-2-2

The Gulls take a four-game winning streak into tonight's game at Victoria. San Diego is 8-2-0 in their last 10 games. San Diego is 3-5-1 on the road this season and 10-2-1 at home this year. Gulls' forward Max Birbraer leads the team in scoring with eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points in 22 games played. Goalie Trevor Koenig is 10-4-1 this season with a 2.69 goals against average.

MIDNIGHT GAME ON THE HORIZON

The Wranglers made professional hockey history last year when they hosted the Bakersfield Condors in the first-ever Midnight Hockey Game. This year the Wranglers will hold their second annual midnight roundup tonight against Fresno.
