Burnes Suspended by Titans

TRENTON, NJ (December 20, 2004) –The Trenton Titans today announced that defenseman Andy Burnes has been suspended indefinitely. A native of Battle Creek, Michigan, Burnes has decided to pursue his interests outside of hockey. The Titans will retain his rights should he return to the ECHL this season.

The 23-year old rookie recorded 2 points (1g, 1a), 8 penalty minutes and was +6 in 13 games for Trenton. Burnes was a four-year letterman at the University of Michigan and was named the 83rd captain in Wolverine history prior to his senior season in 2003-04. In 158 games at the collegiate level, he totaled 4 goals, 20 assists, 148 penalty minutes and a +36 plus/minus rating.
