
Project Warm Families Coat Drive is Tonight

Bakersfield, Calif. - Clean out your closets and head out to the Centennial Garden to enjoy a night of hockey with the Bakersfield Condors. Monday, December 20th, the Condors will host the Project Warm Families Coat Collection as they battle the Idaho Steelheads in a 7:00 p.m. start.
Sponsored by KGET-TV 17 and News Radio 970 KGET, all fans are encouraged to bring a new or slightly used coat to the game. All coats collected will be donated to needy families in Kern County, through Junior Achievement. As an added bonus, all fans that donate a coat will receive $1.00 terrace level admission to the game. Last years event collected 2,800 coats for needy families. In the events history more than 10,000 coats have been distributed.
The Condors are also celebrating One for the Community Night. Each student who sold ten or more Entertainment books through the One for the Community program are being rewarded for their outstanding efforts and receiving complimentary terrace level admission to the evenings game. The One for the Community program is sponsored by the Bakersfield Condors and KGET-TV 17. In addition the Condors welcome the Eagle Mountain Casino Players Club. All players club members who show their membership card at the box office will receive 2-for-1 admission.
The Condors would like to wish everyone a Feliz Navidad on Wednesday, December 22nd. All fans in attendance at this second match up with the Idaho Steelheads will receive a Condors Feliz Navidad poster, courtesy of KKEY-TV 11, La Preciosa 105.3 and Rio Bravo Country Club. The poster features Condors players Yutaka Fukufuji, Vlad Serov, Kevin St. Jacques, Luis Tremblay, Connor James, Ashlee Langdone and Todd Alexander. The setting of the holiday poster is the Light Spectacular at California Living Museum C.A.L.M. These seven Condors spent the evening frolicking around in the snow and Christmas lights as they posed for pictures with several fans. While on location at the giant train featured at CALM this Christmas, the Condors invited all children to climb on board with them for a few photos. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m., doors open at 6:00 p.m.
This game will also be the first of five T.H.I.N.K. Nights (Turn Hockey Into New Knowledge). Students in participating schools throughout Kern County can earn terrace tickets through exceptional performance in their classrooms. The T.H.I.N.K. program is sponsored by CHW Hospitals, Department of Public Health and ARRC Technology.
The day after Christmas, the Condors will return to the ice after three days off on Sunday, December 26th, when they take on the rival Fresno Falcons. Be sure to pick up the Bakersfield Californian that morning as the Californian teams up with KGEO 1230 AM and Bakersfield Ice Sports Center to provide the Condors Cheer Sign giveaway. The game will begin at 6:00 p.m. with doors opening at 5:00 p.m.
The Condors Team Store will be open this week Monday-Friday, 11:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., including Christmas Eve for your last minute holiday gift items.
