Tuesday, March 8, 2004 Vs Augusta â 7:05 @ North Charleston Coliseum

Augusta is out of the playoff race, in sixth place in the Central Division. Augusta has played well against the Rays this season with a record of 2-0-2 against the Stingrays. Kevin Spiewak has two game winning overtime goals against the Lynx this season.
At The Coliseum: Two for Tuesday. Two for one upper level one tickets, two for one hot dogs and cokes and two dollar beers.
Friday, March 11, 2004 @ Florence â 7:30 @ Florence Civic Center

The Stingrays have a record of 3-2 this season against the Pride. Florence topped the Stingray 4-2 the last time the two teams played. The Stingrays have played well this season in Florence with a record of 2-0.
Saturday, March 12, 2004 Vs Louisiana -7:30 @ North Charleston Coliseum

Louisiana is in first place in the Central Division. The Gators are currently on a nine game 12 day trip throughout the Carolina's. This game will be only meeting of the season between the two teams.
At The Coliseum: Brett Marietti Bobble Head Doll Night! The first 2,500 fans through the gates will receive a Brett Marietti Bobble Head Doll.
The Week That Was:
Tuesday, March 2, 2004, Stingrays 4 @ Fresno 1
The Stingrays scored three power play goals on the way to a 4-1 victory. The win improved the Stingrays record to 3-1 on their road trip. Captain Trevor Johnson had three assists in the win. Marty Clapton picked up his fifth point of the road trip with a first period goal.
Friday, March 6, 2004 Stingrays 3 @ Idaho 1
The Stingrays fell behind the Steelheads in the second period, but scored the next three goals to win their fourth game on their six game road trip. Chris Allen had a pair of goals and Kirk Daubenspeck made 41 saves for the win.
Saturday, March 7, 2004 Stingrays 4 @ Idaho 2
For the second straight night the Rays fell behind the Steelheads, but rallied to win. Chris Allen had his third two point night in a row, scoring the winning goal and adding an assist for the Stingrays. Kirk Daubenspeck earned his fifth straight win as the Rays swept the Steelheads.
The Team:
The Stingrays are all alone in fourth place in the Southern Division with a record of 34-21-3. The team finished its six game west coast swing with a record of 5-1 to take over third place in the Southern Division. The Rays have games in hand on every other team in the division. South Carolina is 6-4-0 in its last ten games and is now 15-11-1 at home and 19-10-2 on the road. The Stingrays boast the second best road power play in the ECHL at 23.8%. The Stingrays are 19-12-2 against teams in the Southern Division and 15-9-1 against the other divisions. The Rays are 4-2 in overtime games, 5-1 in shootout games and 14-3-3 in one goal games overall. When they score first, the Stingrays are 21-7-2. South Carolina has allowed just 2.62 goals against per game this season which ranks eighth in the league. Offensively the team is ranked 20th averaging 2.90 goals per game. The Rays power play is ranked 13th in the league at 18.7% and the team is ranked 18th on the penalty kill at 82.2%
The Players:
Chris Allen had six points this week on three goals and three assists. He scored the game winning goal in both wins over Idaho on the weekend and has seven points in his last five games on three goals and four assists. Kirk Daubenspeck has now won his last five starts. He has a record of 27-10-4 with a GAA of 2.47. The veteran netminder allowed just four goals in three games this week. Stingray's newcomer Boris Protsenko had one assist in two games this week with the Stingrays. Curtis Huppe has four goals and an assist in his last five games. Huppe has 15 of his 20 goals on the road this season.
Kelly Cup: The Patrick Kelly Cup will be on hand at the Stingrays game tomorrow night against the Augusta Lynx. The Stingrays are the only team to win the Kelly Cup twice. South Carolina won the Kelly Cup in 1997 and in 2001. Fans can view the cup in the Coliseum Club located outside section 221 on the concourse.
