
Condors Deal Barrie to South Carolina

Bakersfield, Calif. â The Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL have traded C/RW Mike Barrie to the South Carolina Stingrays in exchange for future considerations.
Barrie, 29, had 12g-6a-18pts and 40 penalty minutes in 26 games with the Condors this season. He was signed just after the New Year on January 10th. He joins a South Carolina team that is battling for playoff position and is currently in third place in the Southern Division. He spent two seasons with the Stingrays nearly a decade ago. The Condors defeated the Stingrays at Centennial Garden on February 29th, 2-1 in their only loss on a six-game road trip to the West Coast.
The Condors are expected to receive compensation for Barrie at the conclusion of the 2003-04 season.
The Las Vegas Wranglers come into town to play a pair this weekend. On Friday, the first 2,000 fans will receive a free Condors CD Wallet, courtesy of KUZZ 107.9 and Subway. It's also a Colonel Claw'd's Kids Club Night, in which all members receive a complimentary terrace admission. Subway is also hosting a discount night, offering 2-for-1 admission with a coupon from area Subway locations.
On Saturday night, the first 2,000 children 12 and under will receive a bobblehead doll of Condors Legend Quinn Fair, sponsored by KGET-TV 17, Elite Tile and TPS Equipment. Both games start at 7:00pm. Arrive early as Jesus Shack presents the Condors Christian Music Festival. Five Christian rock bands will perform on Centennial Plaza prior to the game beginning at 2:00pm. In addition, for the two remaining Saturday night home games for the Condors, fans can purchase a hot dog for just $1 with any beverage purchase. There will also be a Season Ticket Holder Meet the Team party after the game.
All Condors games, home and away, can be heard on KGEO AM 1230, and online at www.bakersfieldcondors.com. "Condors Countdown" starts 15 minutes prior to game time, with Kevin Bartl handling the play-by-play. Both games this weekend will also be televised live on Bright House Networks, Ch. 21, with replays the following morning at 10:00am.
Individual seats are on sale now, and may be purchased through the Centennial Garden box office, which opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location.
