South Carolina Stingrays News Release

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays, ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, are just two wins shy of matching the ECHL single-season record for consecutive victories.

The Stingrays, who eclipsed their single-season team record of 10 straight wins (set during the 2004-05 campaign) last Sunday against the Gwinnett Gladiators, can tie the league mark with victories tonight and tomorrow evening against the Florida Everblades. The Louisiana IceGators and Knoxville Cherokees hold the ECHL record with 14 consecutive wins, set during the 2000-01 and 1993-94 seasons, respectfully.

South Carolina started their current 12-game win streak on Nov. 28, and went a perfect 10-0 in the month of December. A win this evening in Estero, FL would equal the runner-up mark set by the 2006-07 Las Vegas Wranglers, who reeled off 13 straight wins.
