Inferno fall to Lynx, 3-2

AUGUSTA, G.A. (January 4, 2008) - The Columbia Inferno dropped 3-2 to the Augusta Lynx Friday night at James Brown Arena in front of 2,688 fans.

Augusta scored early with a goal by Ken Scuderi at the :39 mark of the first period. Exactly seven minutes later, Steve McJannet tied the game with his fourth of the season. Patrick Wellar and Jeremy Hall had the assists. Liam Huculak found the back of the net at 1:25 of the second period to give the Inferno the go ahead goal.

The Lynx scored two goals in the third period at 3:34 and 18:21 to earn the win over the Inferno. Columbia went 6-for-6 on the penalty kill and goaltender Jeff Jakaitis stopped 28 of 31 shots on goal.

The Inferno look for a rematch on Saturday, January 5 at 1:05pm when the Lynx visit the Carolina Coliseum.
