
Duncan Named All-Star Trainer

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Thursday announced that Wheeling Nailers athletic trainer Jerry Duncan has been named the American Conference trainer for the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game presented by Jackson Rancheria and Bud Light. The athletic trainers and equipment managers were selected in a vote of their peers in the respective conferences.
Duncan is in his third season as the athletic trainer of the Nailers and has worked the last two seasons for the Ohio Valley Greyhounds of the United Indoor Football League. A certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, the New Kensington, Pa. native received his bachelor's degree in sports medicine from Mercyhurst College, which he attended on a football scholarship, and was awarded his master's degree in athletic training from West Virginia University.
He joins Kevin Anderson of Stockton, who is making his second straight All-Star Game appearance, for the National Conference. The equipment managers are Pat Noecker of the Reading Royals for the American Conference and Mark Burgess of the host Stockton Thunder, who was also chosen to work the ECHL All-Star Game in 2005, for the American Conference.
Duncan will represent the Wheeling Nailers along with defenseman Paul Bissonnette and broadcaster Brendan Burke.
Hosted by the Stockton Thunder and the City of Stockton at Stockton Arena, the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game presented by Jackson Rancheria and Bud Light will be played on Jan. 23 with the 11th edition of the Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game Skills Competition being held on Jan. 22.
