Jackals win 6-3; Martinson behind bench for 600th victory

Dan Kronick scored once while defenseman Kyle Wharton potted a pair of goals in a 2:32 span early in the second period to spark the Elmira Jackals to a 6-3 win over the Dayton Bombers in front of 2,157 fans at the Nutter Center. The win was head coach Steve Martinson's 600th professional win in his just his 13th season.

Wharton's goals came in his Jackals debut after being reassigned by the Columbus Blue Jackets from Syracuse (AHL). His first goal put the Jackals in front 2-1 just forty-eight seconds after Kronick's goal tied the game at 1-1 at 2:28.

Greg Labenski gave the the Bombers their only lead of the game 2:12 into the first period with his fourth goal of the year before the Jackals took over territorially late in the first period and then score-wise in the early in the middle period.
