Steelheads Off The Hook
December 17, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL)
Idaho Steelheads News Release
TWICE IS NICE, THRICE IS NICER
The Steelheads would have been happy winning two of the three games against the Phoenix Roadrunners last week at Qwest Arena, but getting the sweep was sweet. And, in keeping with the theme that good things happen in three's, rookie forward Mark Bomersback tallied Idaho's first hat trick of the season on Saturday (his first professional), putting him one goal ahead of team points leader Greg Rallo who has 29 points. Bomersback has 15 goals, which ranks him 5th overall in the ECHL.
HOLIDAY SPIRIT
Idaho will leverage the season-high three-game win streak as the team hosts rival National Conference-leading Las Vegas this week for what should be three spirited games. Las Vegas leads the league in winning percentage (.870), but is second in points with 40 behind Texas which has played three more games. Equally impressive for Las Vegas is the team's away record this season - 11-1-0-1.
By comparison, Idaho, with two more games played than the Wranglers, has 27 points and a .540 winning percentage and ranks fifth overall in the conference. In its last ten games played, the Wranglers have a 8-0-0-1 record, while Idaho sports a 5-4-0-1 count.
Head to Head Record 2007-08 Regular Season: Idaho 1-2-0-0 / Las Vegas 2-0-0-1
Head to Head Record 06-07 Regular Season: Idaho 4-3-1-2 / Las Vegas 6-1-2-1
