The Ice Pilots would even the score when Sgroi charged in and banged home the rebound of Erickson's shot at the 18:42 mark of the second.

After a scoreless third period, the Sea Wolves found themselves shorthanded in overtime when Travis Lisabeth took at hooking penalty at 1:38. Four seconds later, Pensacola's Joel Stepp took a slashing minor that saw the teams skate three-aside until Bryan Esner took advantage of a Mississippi giveaway, raced down one-on-one against Mark Hurtubise and tucked the puck past Cey for the win at 2:04 of overtime.
