GWINNETT 4 - Inferno 1

Inferno captain Brad Ralph scored his 11th of the season, but the Gladiators' three second-period goals proved to be too much to overcome as Columbia lost this season's first meeting between the two clubs. Goalie Todd Ford stopped 28 of 32.

Saturday, December 15

CHARLOTTE 3 - Columbia 2 (OT)

Defenseman Patrick Wellar scored in the first period and forward Steve McJannet scored four minutes into the third to force overtime for the Inferno against the Checkers in Charlotte. Charlotte's Nathan Gillies scored 4:34 into overtime to seal the Inferno's fate. Ford finished with 33 saves on 36 shots in what may have been his best game of the year.

The Inferno lost the last game between these two clubs 2-1 in overtime on Saturday, Dec. 1. Columbia is 3-1-1 this season against Augusta and 27-18-8 all time. This will be the sixth of 10 meetings this season.

The Inferno lost to the Everblades 3-2 the last time the two teams played, Saturday, Dec. 8. Columbia is 0-2-1 against Florida this season, and 19-23-5 all-time.

This will be the second game between these teams in as many nights. This road trip, the second of its kind this year, will be the last the Inferno will make through Florida this season. The Everblades will visit the Coliseum two more times this season.
