Utah Grizzlies News Release

Long Beach, California- The Utah Grizzlies used offence and strong goaltending to improve their record to 7-3 with a 5-1 win over the Long Beach Ice Dogs.

The Grizzlies took the lead late in the first period when Anthony Battaglia and Louis Dumont connected for Dumont's fifth goal of the season, and his second in as many nights. Alfie Michaud was solid in net for Utah, turning aside all 14 shots he faced in the first frame.

Utah wasted no time increasing their lead, when Brad Herauf scored an unassisted goal just two minutes into the second period. James Laux followed up with a power play goal at the 6:03 mark, then the Grizzlies struck again; Barret Ehgoetz found Matt Craig for his tenth goal of the season, increasing the score to 4-0 Utah. But Long Beach found the back of the net with under four minutes to play, when Chris Kenady scored on a 5-on-3 for the Ice Dogs.

Garett Cameron scored late in the third period to increase the score to 5-1 Grizzlies, and Michaud was perfect in the third period, stopping all six shots he faced for a total of 33 saves on 34 shots. Greg Hewitt picked up 27 saves on 32 shots in the loss for Long Beach.

The Grizzlies close out this road trip on Sunday, November 13, facing off against the Ice Dogs once more. Game time is 5 p.m.
