NORTH CHARLESTON, SC-South Carolina Stingrays Head Coach Jason Fitzsimmons announced today the team has signed forward Matt Reid to a contract for the remainder of the season. Reid played earlier this season in Belfast, Ireland for former Stingrays Ed Courtenay.

"We are very pleased to have come to terms with Matt," commented Fitzsimmons. "We know how much of a factor he can be for us. Having Matt in our lineup will help us immediately."

A year ago the Massena, NY native had 64 points for the Stingrays in 65 games on 25 goals and 39 assists. He is a sixth year professional. Reid played his first four seasons with the Pee Dee Pride and had a career high 28 goals and 44 assists with the Pride in 2002-03.

The Stingrays return home to host the Charlotte Checkers on Wednesday, November 23 at 7:05. The team is currently on a six game road trip. For ticket information contact the Stingrays office at 744-2248 or log on to www.stingrayshockey.com.
