
Ice Pilots Win 3-2 vs Charlotte

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots defeated the Charlotte Checkers 3-2 on Friday night at the Pensacola Civic Center to improve their record to 2-3-1 for 5 points and the Charlotte Checkers lost their first game of the season dropping their record to 5-1-1 for 11 points.
Dominic Noel scored the first goal of the game for the Ice Pilots with a hard slap shot from the left wing circle that beat goalie Jeff Glass 20 seconds into the game. The Ice Pilots took a 2-0 lead on a goal by Brian Collins his third of the season at the 4:37 mark of the first period.
Charlotte would get on the scoreboard at the 16:39 mark of the first period as Hugh Jessiman tipped in a shot from Kenton Smith from inside the blue line and it was a 2-1 lead for the Ice Pilots after the first period.
After a scoreless second period, Dusty Jamieson tied the game for the Checkers with a shorthanded goal at 3:26 of the third period. Nick Lindberg scored the game winning goal at 8:48 and the Ice Pilots won 3-2.
Frederic Cloutier was the winning goalie stopping 46 out of 48 shots and Jeff Glass took the loss in goal for the Checkers. The Ice Pilots went 0-4 on the power play and Charlotte went 1-6.
The Ice Pilots will play at Columbia on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. central time. The game will also be available by a pay per view webcast at www.icepilots.com in conjunction with B2 Networks for $6.
The Ice Pilots next home game is Sunday, November 20 vs. Augusta
at 4:05 p.m. The Stanley Cup will be at the game to help assist in Hurricane Relief
