Shinskie Named MWL Pitcher of the Week

Beloit Snappers reliever David Shinskie was named the Midwest League Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 29 through June 4. Shinskie appeared in three games for the Snappers, posting a 1-0 record and a 0.00 ERA. He worked eight scoreless innings of relief, allowing one hit and striking out five batters.
This season Shinskie is 4-3 with a 2.82 ERA and has record three saves. In 38.1 innings of work he has struck out 31 batters. Shinskie was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the fourth round of the June 2003 draft.
The Snappers return to Pohlman Field, June 10-13 to take on the South Bend Silver Hawks and Justin Upton, the number one pick overall in the June 2005 draft. Fireworks will follow the game Saturday, June 10.
