Scherlinck recalled from Idaho

BOISE, Idaho¾ The Idaho Steelheads announced today that the Iowa Stars have recalled defenseman Jeremy Scherlinck [Sheer-link] from Idaho. The Stars are Idaho's American Hockey League affiliate.

Scherlinck, 25, has played in 11 games this season with the Steelheads earning 3 points and a plus-3 rating. The Gross Pointe, Michigan native attended Iowa Stars training camp and scored a power play goal in a 2-0 win vs. Quad City.

Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White said he expects Scherlinck to skate in tonight's game versus the Chicago Wolves.

Meanwhile, the Steelheads are ready to take on the Utah Grizzlies tonight for the final game of the two-game set at Qwest Arena. The Steelheads beat the Grizzlies 6-1 Wednesday in a heated match that accounted for a total of 111 penalty minutes, 10 fighting majors and two game misconducts.
