Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Bakersfield, CA - The Las Vegas Wranglers® (9-2-0, 18 Points) defeated the Bakersfield Condors (4-7-3, 11 points) 4-0 at Rabobank Arena on Friday night. Goalie Daniel Manzato stopped all 38 Bakersfield shots for his first shutout of the season. Captain Peter Ferarro and left wing Bruce Mulherin each scored a goal and added an assist as the Wranglers won their fifth straight game. Leading scorer Adam Cracknell pushed season total to ten with a pair of goals in the third period. Las Vegas will return to Rabobank Arena on Sunday at 5:00 pm.
Las Vegas ended a scoreless tie late in the first period as left wing Bruce Mulherin tipped in a rebound with only 38-seconds remaining in the opening frame. The Ferraro twins, Chris and Peter, each assisted on Mulherin's eighth goal of the season.
In the second period, Las Vegas doubled up the lead with a power-play goal by Peter Ferraro at 14:52. With two Condors in the penalty box, the Wranglers took advantage of a five-on-three power play. Defensemen Gerry Burke and Jason Krischuk worked the puck to the left-wing circle, setting up Ferraro for a one-timer that beat Bakersfield goalie Jamie Hodson. Ferraro's fifth goal of the season gave Las Vegas a 2-0 lead heading into the final period.
In the third period, after two Condors collided in the Bakersfield zone, creating a turnover, the Wranglers pushed the lead to 3-0. Mulherin dropped a pass in the left-wing circle for Adam Cracknell, who scored his ninth of the season at 7:59. Cracknell added his second goal of the period and tenth of the season with 15-seconds remaining in the game for the 4-0 final.
The Wranglers continue on the team's five-game road trip before returning home to host the Phoenix RoadRunners on Tuesday, November 20th at 7:05 pm.
