
Sam Oremba and Scott Ratzlaff Named to Team Canada U-17 Capital City Challenge

KENT - The Seattle Thunderbirds have announced that left wing Sam Oremba and goalie Scott Ratzlaff have been named to Hockey Canada's U-17 roster for the Capital City Challenge.
"We are very excited about this opportunity for both Sam and Scott," said general manager, Bil La Forge. "We know they will represent the Thunderbirds extremely well and we look forward to seeing them compete on the national stage."
Oremba and Ratzlaff are two of the 66 players invited by Hockey Canada to the Challenge, which takes place November 26- December 1 in Ottawa. The Challenge features a four-team tournament with three men's under-17 teams and Canada's National Women's Team.
Oremba was selected by the T-Birds in the first round, seventh overall, in the 2020 WHL Draft. During the 2020-21 season, Oremba played 15 games for the Thunderbirds and had 2 goals and 3 assists for 5 points. Thus far, during the 2021-22 season, he has played in 9 games with 3 assists for 3 points.
Ratzlaff was selected by the T-Birds in the second round, 43rd overall, in the 2020 WHL Draft. During the 2020-21 season, Razlaff played in three games with the Thunderbirds and had a save percentage of 0.867 and a goals against average of 2.98. Thus far, in the 2021-22 season, he has played in two games with a save percentage of 0.931 and a goals against average of 2.00.
