Game #13 Preview: Blades at Raiders
November 5, 2021 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release
One of the most heated rivalries in the Western Hockey League takes the ice at the Art Hauser Centre for the first time this season.
The Saskatoon Blades (9-2-1-0) and Prince Albert Raiders (3-7-0-1) are opening a weekend home-and-home series which will conclude Saturday night at SaskTel Centre.
The Blades are coming off a gritty third-period comeback victory to hand the Swift Current Broncos a 4-3 loss on Wednesday, while the Raiders are back after nearly a full week off - most recently beating the Brandon Wheat Kings 3-1 last Saturday.
This is the first of 10 matches between these two rivals this year. They'll see each other four times next month before wrapping up the season series with four straight games in March.
Who to Watch
Alternate captain Kyle Crnkovic has the longest active point streak across the WHL, finding the scoresheet in all 12 games thus far. The Chestermere, AB product also sits tied for first in league scoring with 10 goals, and tied for second across the Dub with 20 points.
The 2002-born winger trails only Tristen Robins, his linemate, in the WHL scoring race, who has 22 points (7G-15A) on the campaign. Robins is the reigning WHL Player of the Month after ending October with 21 points in 10 games, and has seven multi-point performances this season.
Import forward Egor Sidorov continues to climb the scoresheet, now up to 11 (6G-5A) on the campaign after scoring in the second period vs. Swift Current on Wednesday. The Belarusian rookie has points in seven of the last eight and sits fourth in the WHL rookie scoring race.
Country Western Rivalry
After tonight's game, we're throwing on our wranglers for Country Western Night on Saturday as we welcome the Prince Albert Raiders to SaskTel Centre. Bring your cowboy boots, flannel shirts and saddle up for a wild ride featuring the most chaotic rivalry in the WHL!
Saves for Hunger
This season, The Saskatoon Blades have partnered with Nutrien to launch the "Saves for Hunger" Campaign.

Blades goaltenders have made 329 saves so far, running the tally up to $1645 raised as the team heads into Medicine Hat.
