Sabres, Hutton Agree to Three-Year Deal

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has agreed to terms with goaltender Carter Hutton on a three-year contract with an average annual value of $2.75 million.

Hutton (6'1", 202 lbs., 12/19/1985) produced a career season in 2017-18 for the St. Louis Blues, in which he recorded a 17-7-3 record and led the NHL in save percentage (.931) and goals-against average (2.09). Over the last three seasons, Hutton is tied for the league lead among goaltenders with at least 10 games played with a 2.25 goals-against average and ranks eighth with a .921 save percentage.

During his six-year NHL career, Hutton has recorded a 63-39-17 career record with a 2.42 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage in 138 games with the Blues, Nashville Predators and Chicago Blackhawks. Before turning pro, the Thunder Bay, Ontario native spent four seasons playing for the UMass Lowell River Hawks (Hockey East), where he ranks in the school's top 10 in career wins, (10th, 32), goals-against average (2nd, 2.33), save percentage (T-3rd, .913) and shutouts (2nd, 10).
