Royals Notes:

v The Royals went 2-1-0 in the three games played this past week. Reading's record is now 21-7-2=44, which places the Royals tied in points for first place in the North Division of the American Conference and translates into a .733 win percentage-which is tied for the third best win percentage in the league.

v All three of the Royals games this week were played on the road, which completed a season long seven game road trip for Reading.

- With the victories in Las Vegas and Johnstown on Tuesday and Friday of this past week, the Royals extended the team record road winning streak to nine games (11/26/05 - 01/06/06).

- The Royals road winning streak was snapped with the 5-2 loss to Trenton on Saturday night.

v By winning the first two games played this past week, the Royals extended the team's winning streak to six games, a streak that was also snapped with the loss in Trenton on Saturday.

- The longest win streak this season for the Royals is seven games, a streak which the team put together from November 11 through November 26, 2005.

v With the win in Las Vegas last Tuesday at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Royals became the first team this year to defeat the Wranglers in regulation on their home ice.

v The Royals' first goal in Tuesday's 3-2 win over Las Vegas was scored by Doug Christiansen while Reading was on the power play at the 19:15 mark of the first period to tie the game at one.

- Tuesday's goal was Christiansen's sixth power play of the goal this year for Reading, tying him with Mike Kompon for the team lead in that category.

- In Reading's 4-3 win over Johnstown on Friday night, Christiansen also scored the Royals' third goal at the 8:08 mark of the second period (to make the score 3-1, Reading) while the Royals were playing a man short. This marked the first short-handed goal of the season for Christiansen.

- In the Royals' 5-2 loss to Trenton on Saturday night, Christiansen also picked up an assist on the Royals' first goal at the 8:16 mark of the second period (to make the score 3-1, Trenton), extending his personal point streak to ten games (8g - 5a = 13pts).

v The Royals' second goal in Tuesday's 3-2 win over Las Vegas was scored by Dany Roussin at 3:46 of the second period while the teams were skating four aside and made the score 2-1, Reading.

- On Tuesday, Roussin also picked up an assist on the Royals' game winning goal (scored on the power play by Mike Kompon), marking his second multi-point game in a row for Reading.

- For Roussin Tuesday's goal and assist accounted for his seventh goal and twelfth point in his first twelve games with the Royals.

v The Royals' game winning goal on Tuesday night (the team's third) was scored by Mike Kompon at the 12:40 mark of the second period while the Royals were on the power play.

- This goal was the second game winner of the season for Kompon, as well as his sixth power play goal.

- This goal also extended a personal point streak for Kompon to a team high fourteen games (3g- 18a = 21pts).

- Kompon did not play in Friday's win in Johnstown due to injury; and prior to Saturday night's game in Trenton, Kompon was loaned to the Manchester Monarchs (AHL), marking the first time in his two year pro career that he has been called to the American Hockey League.

v Two of the three goals scored by Reading in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Las Vegas Wranglers were scored while the Royals were on the power play.

- This marked the twelfth game this season that Reading has scored two or more power play goals in a single game.

- In Friday's 4-3 win in Johnstown, Reading went scoreless in three opportunities with the power play, marking the first time in twenty one consecutive games (since a November 9, 3-0 shutout at the hands of the Trenton Titans) that the Royals failed to score a power play goal.

- The Royals' pp was also held off the board in Saturday's 5-2 loss to Trenton, going 0 for seven with the man advantage, marking the fifth time this season that the Royals have gone without a power goal. (Reading has now gone ten consecutive power play chances over two games without scoring a power play goal.)

- Over the course of the season, Reading has scored 40 power play goals in 163 chances, which translates into a 24.5% scoring ratio, which is the best in the league.

v In Tuesday's win, Reading's penalty killers held the Wranglers' power play unit off the board in five chances with the man advantage, marking the eleventh time this season that the Royals' pk has blanked the opposition.

- Johnstown scored one power play goal in seven chances with the man advantage in the Royals' 4-3 win in Johnstown on Friday.

- In Saturday's 5-2 loss to Trenton, the Titans scored two power play goals in seven chances with the extra man, marking the ninth time this season that Reading has allowed two or more power play goals in a single game to the opposition.

- Over the course of the season, the Royals have allowed 29 power play goals against in 188 chances, an 84.6% kill ratio, which ranks the team tied for fifth in the league in that category.

v In the 3-2 win over the Las Vegas Wranglers on Tuesday night, Cody Rudkowsky was the Royals' goaltender, stopping 30 of the 32 shots he faced in picking up his twelfth win of the season (12-2-1) for Reading.

- In his fifteen starts with Reading this year, Rudkowsky, who is scheduled to be the starting goaltender for the American Conference in the ECHL All-Star game Presented By Bud Light on January 25 in Fresno, California, has compiled a 2.45 goals against average (seventh best in the league) and a .918 save percentage.

- On Thursday of this past week, Rudkowsky was loaned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League, marking the first call up of the season for Rudkowsky, who has appeared in 96 AHL games and 1 NHL game in his seven year pro career.

v In Friday's 4-3 win over the Johnstown Chiefs the Royals' first goal (the first goal of the game) was scored by Jamie O'Leary at the 1:01 mark of the first period-on the first shift and first shot of the season for O'Leary, who was signed by the Royals earlier in the day and was playing in his 400th professional regular season game.

v Friday's 4-3 win over Johnstown marked the only game this week that the Royals scored the game's first goal. Over the course of the season, Reading is 13-0-2 when scoring first.

v The Royals' second goal in Friday's 4-3 win in Johnston was scored by Jason Kostadine at the 18:38 mark of the first period to make the score 2-1.

- This marked the first goal of the season for Kostadine, who was acquired by the Royals in a trade with the Stockton Thunder on Thursday and had taken the "red-eye" flight from California just to join the Royals in time for Friday night's game.

- Kostadine also picked up an assist on the Royals' game winning goal (by Chris Bala) on Friday night, marking his first multi-point game of the season-in his first game of the season with the Royals.

- Prior to the trade, Kostadine had played twenty-three games in Stockton and had not scored a goal and had two assists (one of which was picked up against the Royals in Reading's 3-1 over Stockton on December 27).

v On Friday, Royals' defenseman Michael Acosta, who last played for Princeton University in 1998, played his first pro game.

v The Royals' fourth goal on Friday night was scored by Chris Bala with just 2:47 remaining in the third period, breaking a 3-3 tie and proving to be a game winner.

- This was Bala's second game winning goal of the season for Reading.

- On Friday, Bala also assisted on the Royals' first goal (by Jamie O'Leary) and the team's third goal-the shorthanded goal by Doug Christiansen-marking Bala's first three point performance of the season for Reading and his fourth multi-point game in his last eight for the Royals.

- On Saturday, Bala also picked up a short-handed goal to make the score 3-2, Trenton, 5:31 into the third period, marking Bala's fourth short-handed goal (and his fifth short-handed point) of the season.

- Saturday's short-handed goal was also Bala's third short-handed goal-and fourth short-handed point-in his last eight games with Reading.

- Bala's four short-handed goals is tied for the league lead in the category (and his five short-handed points leads the league in that category).

- Bala is currently on a six game point streak (5g - 5a = 10pts); and he has collected eight goals and five assists (13 points) in his last nine games.

v Reading has scored four short-handed goals in the team's last four games and six shorties in the team's last eight games, giving the Royals eight short-handed goals on the season, which tied for fifth in the league in that category.

v T.J. Kemp picked up an assist on the Royals' game winning goal on Friday night, extending his personal point streak to four games (1g - 3a = 4pts), which was snapped in the Royals' 5-2 loss to Trenton on Saturday.

- Kemp currently has twenty-eight points (8g - 20a = 28pts), which places him tied for third in scoring amongst defensemen in the ECHL and tied for ninth amongst rookies in the league.

- Kemp, who will represent the Royals in the 2005-06 ECHL All-Star Game Presented By Bud Light on January 25, 2006, in Fresno, California, is currently the leading scorer actually playing with the Royals at this time.
