Reading Royals News Release

Ten different Titans figured into the scoring led by veteran Scott Bertoli who netted two goals and an assist as Trenton beat Reading for the first time this season, 5-2.  The Titans jumped on top of the Royals with three first period goals by Bertoli, Matt Zultek (PP) and Matt Pittman.    The line of Pittman, Zultek and Bertoli accounted for seven of the 14 Titan points.  Reading cut the Trenton lead to two goals at two different times in the game but could get no closer.  Peter Hay and Scooter Smith added a goal and an assist to lead Reading scorers.

Andrew Allen was solid in net for the Titans stopping 36 of 38 Royals shots.  Cody Rudkowsky dropped his first decision to the Titans this year stopping 21 of 26.  Reading was 0 of 4 on the power play while the Titans converted 1 of 2 opportunities.  The Royals tied a season low six minutes in penalties, while the Titans had just eight penalty minutes.

The Royals go on the road for three straight games beginning and ending with the Wheeling Nailers.  Friday night Reading battles the Nailers, Saturday the Royals tangle with the Johnstown Chiefs for the third time in a week and finally the weekend ends Sunday in Wheeling for the fifth meeting between the Nailers and Royals.
