ROANOKE, VA â Roanoke Express Head Coach Tony MacAulay announced today that defenseman Tim O'Connell has returned to the team from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League.
O'Connell saw action in seven games with the Admirals from December 26-January 4. The 26-year-old from Grand Forks, ND picked up one goal and three assists in his seven games with Norfolk, and amassed 10 penalty minutes. His lone goal came in his first game with the Admirals on December 26 against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. O'Connell returns to the Express where he has picked up 18 points (7 g, 11 a) in 28 games.
The Roanoke Express returns to action at the Roanoke Civic Center on Friday, January 9 when it hosts the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies and again on Saturday, January 10 to host the Toledo Storm. Both games begin at 7:30 p.m. For group or season ticket information call (540) 343-4500.
