Rox Hit Multiple Home Runs, Drop Close Game to Rochester

St. Cloud, MN- St. Cloud (41-26) hit multiple home runs, but dropped game one of the series to Rochester (36-33) by a score of 6-3. A crowd of over 2,000 fans attended the game. The Rox magic number to clinch a playoff berth is three games.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Jack Kelly (Minnesota) drew a two-out walk. Garett Delano (Brown) followed with a two-run home run over the left field wall and tied the game at two.

Down 6-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning, Parker Smejkal (Nebraska-Omaha) drilled his second home run of the season with a solo shot to left field.

Alex Carrillo (Faulkner) started the game and struck out seven batters in 6.1 innings thrown. RJ Martinez (Minot State) and Max Rippl (Kent State) saw time out of the bullpen.

St. Cloud looks to split the series against Rochester on Friday at 7:05 p.m. It's Fan Appreciation Night presented by Texas Roadhouse as fans will receive great prizes throughout the game. There will be a post-game fireworks show.
