Bakersfield Condors News Release

Bakersfield, Calif. - Paul Rosebush scored three times to lead the Bakersfield Condors to a 6-4 victory over the San Diego Gulls in front of a season-high 8,562 fans at the Rabobank Arena on Saturday night.

The two teams swapped goals in the opening frame. Bakersfield fought back from a pair of one- goal deficits to tie the game twice and it was 2-2 after 20 minutes. Kevin St. Jacques and Paul Rosebush both scored for the Condors and Mark Pederson had both Gulls tallies.

In the second, Rosebush cranked home his second of the game to take the first Bakersfield lead at 9:22. His blast rang off the inside crossbar for his 16th of the season - tying him for the team lead in goals. Pederson completed the trick late in the second period to make it 3-3.

After Ryan Gillis regained the lead for Bakersfield the Gulls again answered with a power play tally. Then Ryan Coole, who in the first period tallied his first two points of the season, blasted home his first goal of the year to put Bakersfield in front for good. Rosebush's final tally came with just over two seconds remaining. Bakersfield pulled within three points of first place with the win and Long Beach's loss to Idaho.

Tonight's game will be shown on replay on Sunday night at 7:00 p.m. on Bright House Networks, Ch. 21. After a trip to Fresno on Tuesday night, the Condors return home on Wednesday, March 2nd to host the Gulls once again for Student ID Night, courtesy of WB-12, 106.1 KRAB Radio and the University of Phoenix.
