FLORENCE, SC -- Charlotte's Dusty Jamieson scored two goals to help lead the Checkers past the Pee Dee Prid 5-2 in front of 2,029 fans on Sunday afternoon at the Florence Civic Center.

Pee Dee drew first blood 4:20 into the contest as Gregg Johnson beat Charlotte goaltender Alex Westlund with a quick wrist shot to the far post. The goal was Johnson's 14th of the season.

It was all Charlotte after that, as the Checkers tallied three times in the second period, added two more in the second to take control and a 5-1 lead after 40 minutes.

The Pride set the final as Brett Rote, signed earlier in the day from the Asheville Aces of the SPHL, scored his first goal in a Pride sweater at the 8:10 mark.

Pee Dee is off until Saturday, when the South Carolina Stingrays come to town for a rematch of Friday night's fight-filled contest. Face-off is set for 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the Florence Civic Center Box Office, or through TicketMaster at (843) 679-9333 or www.ticketmaster.com.
