Chiefs Fall In Shootout to Trenton

Johnstown, PA- For the second straight game, the Johnstown Chiefs gave up a one goal lead in the third period, as the visiting Trenton Titans defeated the Chiefs 3-2 in a shootout Sunday afternoon at the War memorial.

Johnstown was up 2-1 with first period goals by Joe Tallari and Scott Dobben. Trenton had a first period goal by Nick Deschenes. Titans center Scott Bertoli tied the game up 2-2 with just 50 seconds left in regulation time. The Titans would move on to win the shoot out 1-0 with another Bertoli goal.

Chiefs net minder David Cann made 33 saves in the contest. Titans goaltender Andrew Allen made 35 saves.

The Chiefs are now 19-21-12, while the Titans improve to 29-17-7.

The Chiefs have another busy week ahead as they play four games, beginning Tuesday night at Reading. Friday, they travel to Wheeling and Saturday afternoon, Atlantic City. They close out the weekend at home Sunday afternoon against the Reading Royals at 3:00 p.m. Get your tickets now for the Saturday, March 12th game when the Chiefs take on the Wheeling Nailers as the Hanson Brothers will be in attendance, sponsored by Somerset Trust Bank.
