Titans Down Chiefs in Shootout, 3-2

JOHNSTOWN, PA (February 27, 2005) - Scott Bertoli led the comeback to help the Trenton Titans clinch a 3-2 shootout over the Johnstown Chiefs in front 2,004 at Cambria County War Memorial.

Nick Deschenes struck in the first period for the second night in a row putting the Titans up 1-0 just 1:39 into the contest.

After Scott Dobben tied the score at 6:60 of the first, Joe Tallari put the Chiefs ahead 2-1 on his 21st of the season coming with thirty-nine seconds remaining before intermission.

With just :50 seconds left in regulation and Andrew Allen on the bench in favor of the extra attacker, Bertoli was able to bat Michael Schutte's rebound past David Cann to tie the score 2-2.

After a scoreless overtime, Bertoli was the only Titan skater to beat Cann in the shootout, but Allen stopped all five Chiefs he faced to record his eighteenth win of the season.

The Titans went 0-for-4 on the power play and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.
