GIMME SHELTER: The Rochester Red Wings dropped game two of the Omaha series, 6-1...LHP Carson Teel held the Storm Chasers scoreless through four innings before a three-run fifth knocked him out of the game...RHP Matt Brill allowed both inherited runners to score after coming in to replace Teel...1B Jake Noll and C Taylor Gushue both logged multi-hit performances in the loss, their 21st and 5th, respectively...OF Matt Lipka was responsible for knocking in the lone Wings run last night, being issued a free pass with the bases loaded...LF Andrew Stevenson, RF Donovan Casey and 1B Joey Meneses each picked up a knock in the loss...RHP Sterling Sharp gets the ball for the Wings who remain just a game back of first place in the International League-East...he will be opposed by Omaha's LHP Drew Parrish.

KNOCK, KNOCK: IT'S NOLL: With a pair of hits in last night's contest, 1B Jake Noll extends his hit-streak to 12 games, breaking his career-high at the Triple-A level (11-game hit streak w/ FRE, 7/15-7/26/2019)...the 28-year-old is one hit shy of the Wings' season-high hit-streak (13, Joey Meneses, 4/30 - 5/17)...Noll has a hit in 19-of-his-last-20 games, batting .296 (24-for-81) over that span...last night's multi-hit effort marks the 21st time that the Florida-native has picked up two or more hits in a game, with 20 coming of the two hit variety and one coming of the three-hit variety.

CONGRATULATIONS BILLY: Red Wings Development Coach Billy McMillon will be inducted into the Charlotte Baseball Round Table of Honor today, joining fellow Rochester Red Wings coaching staff member Brian Daubach who was presented this honor back in 2018...the International League Hall of Famer (class of 2019) played two seasons for the Knights in 1996 and 1997, winning Rookie of the Year with a .352 batting average and17 home runs in '96...he returned for a second year in 1997 and hit eight home runs in 57 games.

THE NEW DAD RAKES: OF Andrew Stevenson went 1-for-4 with a 3rd-inning infield single in last night's loss...Stevenson now has a base knock in 19-of-his-last 25 games (since 6/9), posting a .308 (33-for-107) average since that date, good for second-best on the club over that span...the former LSU Tiger has 91 hits on the year, good for the five-spot in the International League-East in hits, just one hit shy of fellow Red Wing 1B Joey Meneses (92, T-3rd)...additionally, the lefty's 141 total bases ties him eighth in the IL-East in that category.

THE TEEL TRAIN: In his third start with Rochester this season, (13 relief appearances) LHP Carson Teel went 4.2 innings and allowed three earned runs while striking out four batters...the former Oklahoma St. Cowboy leads all Wings' starters with a 3.69 ERA when he gets the starting nod (min. 2 starts), compared to a 5.76 ERA out of the bullpen...Teel's 4.2 innings pitched are his most in a start this season...the last time the lefty pitched more than four innings in a start was July 10, 2021 (5 IP w/ HBG v REA in Double-A)...the lefty left the game before the bullpen allowed both inherited runners to score.

DON'T CRY, IT'S JULY: Through 11 games in July, Wings starting pitchers have held opponents to three or less earned runs nine times...coming into the first full month of Summer, Rochester starters had posted an ERA of 5.27 (319.1 IP, 203 ER)...since turning the page to July, starting pitchers have allowed just 20 earned in 53.2 innings of work, good for a 3.35 ERA.

HOME SWEET HOME: C Taylor Gushue went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles, earning his fifth multi-hit game of the year and first since June 29 (6 games between)...the former Pirates' draft pick has hits in 8-of-his-last-9, batting .344 (11-for-32) over that span...Gushue is batting .306 (15-for-49) at home this season in comparison to a .184 (9-for-49) batting average on the road in 2022.

PUSHIN' P(ALACIOS): Wings OF Josh Palacios comes into tonight's game with a 20-game on base streak, the second-longest active on base streak in the International League, and the longest streak of the season for the Red Wings...starting on 6/19, the lefty is 29-for-78, with one home run, four doubles, 11 RBI, four walks, and nine stolen bases, good for a slashline of .372/.417/.462 during his 20-game stretch...Palacios has reached base 35 times during his streak (29 hits, 4 walks, and 2 HBP).
