MOOSIC, PA -The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (42-45) downed the Louisville Bats 6-1 on Thursday night. Hayden Wesneski spun six scoreless frames en route to his fifth win of the season.

The RailRiders tagged number five Reds prospect Brandon Williamson for four runs in three innings. A two-run error was followed by a Max McDowell RBI double in the third to give the RailRiders their first lead. McDowell would walk in the third with the bases loaded to make it 4-0.

Oswald Peraza launched a long solo home run in the home half of the fourth against Louisville reliever Pedro Payano to extend the lead to 5-0. The homer tied Estevan Florial for the team lead, Peraza's eleventh.

Wesneski pitched true to form for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The righthander tossed six shutout innings, just as he did in his last outing against Worcester. The number five Yankees prospect according to Baseball America struck out six batters while surrendering just three hits. With the outing, he has now pushed his scoreless streak to 16.2 innings across three starts.

The two teams traded solo runs in the eighth inning. Oswald Peraza drove home another with a double to finish his night with a pair of RBIs. Zach Greene allowed the lone run of the game in two innings of relief. Greg Weissert lowered his ERA to 2.36 with a scoreless ninth. Wesneski (5-7) took the win with Williamson (1-2) taking the loss. The RailRiders take a 2-1 series lead and will need to win out the remainder of the series if they want to head to the All-Star break with a .500 record.

The RailRiders square off with Louisville on Friday for Margaritaville Night. The RailRiders will wear Margaritaville-inspired Hawaiian jerseys presented by Giant.
