Toledo Mud Hens News Release
To honor one of the best teams in Toledo baseball history, the Mud Hens are teaming up with BCSN to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the 2005 Governors' Cup championship team, during Toledo Baseball History Night on Saturday, August 8! The first 2,000 fans at Fifth Third Field will receive a Curtis Granderson bobblehead.
Members of the 2005 team who will be attendance for a special pregame ceremony to pay tribute to the 2005 Toledo Mud Hens include Mike Hessman, Kevin Hooper, John Ennis, Chris Spurling and Steve Green. Jason Grilli and Curtis Granderson will be making a special appearance by way of a video message.
While Granderson was selected by our game plan holders to represent the team for the bobblehead, he was one of several future major leaguers to play on the 2005 team, along with Jack Hannahan, Don Kelly, Zach Minor, Carlos Pena, Ryan Raburn, Chris Shelton, Marcus Thames, Dewayne Wise, Jason Grilli and Joel Zumaya.
