Bisons Add Speedster Berti

The Buffalo Bisons today announced that INF JONATHON BERTI has been promoted to the team from New Hampshire (AA). INF Luke Scott was placed on the Bisons disabled list today, retroactive to July 19.

Berti, 25, has played 63 games with New Hampshire this year, hitting .262 (67-256) with 12 doubles, one home run, 20 RBI and 19 stolen bases. His 19 stolen bases have come in just 23 attempts, good for the 4th most in the Eastern League. Berti was an E.L. All-Star with the Fisher Cats in 2014, leading the team with 146 hits and 40 stolen bases.

Berti, an 18th round selection of the Blue Jays in the 2011 June Draft, has stolen 172 bases in only 497 career minor league games. This is the infielders Triple-A debut.

Scott has hit .246 (41-167) with 13 doubles, three home runs and 24 RBI in 45 games with the Bisons this season.
