RedHawks Sign Blewett, Assign Fuqua To Disabled List

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have signed RHP Dan Blewett and placed RHP Kevin Fuqua on the disabled list retroactive to July 4. Blewett will make his RedHawks debut tonight as the starting pitcher against the Sioux Falls Pheasants.

Blewett began the season with the Lake County Fielders of the North American League. He was 5-1 with a 3.89 ERA in seven starts for the Fielders. Blewett has allowed 25 runs (19 earned) on 50 hits over 44.0 innings pitched. He struck out 28 batters, walked 13 and held opponents to a .287 batting average against him.

Blewett began his professional career in 2010 with the Normal (IL) Cornbelters of the Frontier League. He was 6-7 with a 3.90 ERA in 19 starts. Blewett allowed 54 runs (49 earned) on 101 hits in 113.0 innings pitched. He recorded 82 strikeouts and walked 52 batters.
