Kansas City 7, Lincoln 5 (11 innings)

The T-Bones didn't hold a lead for the first 10 innings. But a Gerardo Caceres RBI double in the 11th made that a moot point, putting Kansas City in the lead and in control. Later in the frame Caceres scored on a wild pitch to put his club up, 7-5. That proved to be the final score in a game Lincoln at one point led, 5-2. The at-bat was Caceres' first after being a defensive substitution in the 10th. The SaltDogs offense had an impressive early outing, putting up five runs in the first five frames, including two runs in both the fourth and fifth. But the SaltDogs sputtered at the plate from that point on, picking up just five more hits in the final six innings. Two of those came in an attempted two-out rally in the 11th.

Sioux Falls 14, Fargo-Moorhead 1

The Pheasants got two home runs from 1B Brandon Sing and an all-around solid performance from its pitching staff, defeating Fargo-Moorhead handily, 14-1. Sing's first shot came in his first at-bat, when he sent a solo shot over the outfield wall to give his club a 3-1 lead. With the game seemingly already in hand in the sixth, Sioux Falls leading, 11-1, Sing made sure the game wasn't going to be in any doubt. He hit a three-run homer to bring the final tally to Pheasants 14, RedHawks 1. The lone Fargo-Moorhead run came in the first at-bat of the game, when RedHawks leadoff man Zach Penprase hit his third homer of the year to put Fargo-Moorhead up, 1-0. But it was downhill from there for the RedHawks. Pheasants starting pitcher Ben Moore rebounded well, allowing just four more hits in six innings while striking out four to earn his eighth win of the year.

El Paso 5, Amarillo 2

The Diablos scored a single run in five of the final six frames, taking a 1-0 deficit and slowly but surely turning it into a 5-2 win over the Sox of Amarillo. It was a total team effort for El Paso, who got RBI from four different batters - 2B Albenis Machado, 3B Johan Garcia, C Alberto Espinosa and SS Maikol Gonzalez. At the bottom of the El Paso lineup, CF Kory Drew quietly led all batters with three hits while scoring a run. Starting Diablos pitcher Alex Kaminsky earned his first win with El Paso since coming over from Fargo-Moorhead, going six and one-third innings and allowing two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out six Amarillo batters. While El Paso had five players with at least two hits, the Sox' only batter with that designation was 3B Van Pope, who went 2-for-4 and scored one of the Diablos' two runs.

Sioux City 11, Gary SouthShore 3

The top of the Sioux City lineup dominated Gary SouthShore pitching, going a combined 11-for-19 with eight runs and four RBI. And that's not to discount Nos. 8 and 9 hitters Ryan Priddy and Bryan Bistagne, who each picked up two hits of their own. The Explorers batters were able to put up 11 runs with only one player - 1B Kent Sakamoto - picking up anything but a single. Sakamoto tripled twice, both times bringing in a run. Gary SouthShore RF Cristian Guerrero also tripled. He also doubled. And he singled. But he couldn't finish off the cycle with a home run. Sioux City starting pitcher Jason Jarvis earned the win, allowing three runs in eight innings with five strikeouts. The RailCats went on top, 2-0 early. But after the second inning, mustered only four hits and a run while Sioux City was spreading the ball around getting single after run-scoring single.

Wichita 5, Shreveport-Bossier 0

Wichita 3B Juan Richardson put his club on top early with a two-run first-inning homer, his eighth of the year, and the Wingnuts never looked back. Richardson was one of five Wingnuts batters to rack up at least two hits - including every batter from the leadoff spot (DH Jose Duran) to cleanup (Richardson) - going 2-for-4 with a run and three RBI. Working with a lead from the second inning on, Wichita starting pitcher Derek Blacksher had a relaxing and impressive outing. The 26-year-old righty struck out six while allowing just as many to reach first base in eight innings of work. The win was Blacksher's third of the year and lowered his season ERA to 4.55.

Winnipeg 6, St. Paul 1

Going the better-safe-than-sorry route, Winnipeg stretched its lead in the top of the ninth on a two-run Jon Weber double, making a close, competitive game look like anything but, as the Goldeyes took a 6-1 win. It was Weber's only hit of the game but came at a time when the outcome was still up in the air. After the two-bagger, that wasn't so much the case. The Goldeyes got a hit from eight of the nine men in the lineup, with C Luis Alen leading the way, going 3-for-5. St. Paul's only run came in the first inning when 1B Jason Cooper singled in 2B Adam Frost, giving the Saints a one-run lead that held until the third. The score was tied until a Kody Kaiser RBI single in the fifth that put the Goldeyes in the driver's seat.

Fort Worth 6, Grand Prairie 6 (In Progress - Top 12)

The Cats and AirHogs have pushed their contest into extra innings, the second such game of the night in the American Association. And neither team is budging on defense. The score is tied at six runs apiece in the top of the 12th.
